More Anti-Aging Eye Creams from Your Kitchen

Everyone I know – regardless of age — seems to care about the aging of their skin.

Or to be more exact, how to prevent it. Of course, the cosmetic industry knows this, and they know women (and some men) will pay a lot of money for a chemical solution.  And they’re making a bundle.

Nothing against commercial skin care products — many of them are very effective – but if  you’re at this blog, you probably like to save money and you probably like to know exactly what you’re putting on your skin. So, with this in mind, I found you a couple more anti-aging eye recipes to add to the ideas I gave you a couple of posts back.

These are natural, organic, effective, and easy to make. In fact, most of the ingredients are probably in your kitchen right now.

  • Soothing Apple and Potato Eye Cream

Grate a medium-sized potato using a fine grating instrument. Add 3-4 tablespoons of unsweetened applesauce (you can get it at the grocery store or make your own if you’re extra industrious) and mix well. Allow the mixture to chill in the refrigerator for 5 minutes. Then, using a small spoon, gently apply the mixture around your eyes. Take a 5 minutes break to let the cream work: Recline and place a damp cloth over your eyes. When you are finished, rinse off the mixture with water.

You can repeat this process as often as you like, but aim for at least once a week.

  • Vegetable Medley Cream for Under-Eye Circles

Combine a half-cup of tomato puree, a dash of ground turmeric, and one tablespoon of lemon or lime juice. Stir in wheat flour to form a paste.  Apply the paste around your eyes. While you recline, let it dry for 10 minutes. After the paste dries, gently rinse it off; be careful not to pull on the delicate skin around your eyes.

You can use this cream as often as you like; it’s especially good when you’re tired and want to look more refreshed.

So, there you go.  Two more really easy, natural, and effective anti-aging eye products.

Do note  and always remember that as with most skin care, the earlier you start the better; prevention is always better than trying to undo damage later.
