Natural Beauty Recipes for Eye Make-Up Remover
Using beauty products made from natural ingredients is, of course, good for you, your skin, and the environment, but it can also be pretty great for your pocketbook.
Now, even though I’ve been known to be willing to pay for some fancy ingredients in a pretty package on occasion, I do draw the line at eye make-up removers. There is just no point in paying a lot for eye make-up removers when it’s so easy and inexpensive to make terrific ones yourself.
Here are few simple (You won’t believe how simple!) recipes to get you started:
Recipe 1: Embarrassingly Simple
Put some almond or sesame oil on a cottonball. That’s it. And it will remove even waterproof mascara.
Recipe 2: Stupidly Simple Version 1
Shake 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil in a small bottle. Be sure to shake the solution each time before using, then apply with a cottonball.
You can use the same technique and mix:
Recipe 3: Stupidly Simple Version 2
Two tablespoons of water with one tablespoon of jojoba oil or
Recipe 4: Stupidly Simple Version 3
One tablespoon castor oil with 1/8 cup of grapeseed oil.
Recipe 5: Oh No, Requires 2 Steps Simple
Mix a tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil with 2 tablespoons of canola oil. After removing make-up, rinse your eyes with cool water.
Recipe 6: Three Ingredients Simple
Mix one tablespoon of olive oil with one tablespoon of castor oil and one of canola oil.
Speaking of embarrassing: I feel sort of guilty doing a post on something as simple as making homemade eye make-up remover. But if anyone who’s been paying high prices to put chemicals near their eyes gets this message, it’s worth it.
(Needless to say, when in doubt about putting anything near your eyes, consult with your healthcare provider first.)
